OUR PHILOSOPHY

Aims & Objectives

Everyone is special at Abacus. This includes the children, parents and staff.

The Nursery and Kids Club accepts all children regardless of race, religion, culture or special needs. The main focus of Abacus is to provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment. Children are part of a family first and foremost and we will endeavour to work as closely as possible with parents.

Our fully qualified staff will provide a relaxed, loving, friendly, caring and fun day for all the children.

We are fully registered with Estyn, the schools inspectorate, for our pre-school provision through the Foundation Phase. We aim to provide an environment that recognises the child as an individual with opportunities for all children to develop at their own speed, with guidance in the beginnings of self-discipline.

Here at Abacus Day Nursery, whilst in our care, children are able to participate in a wide variety of experiences which will encourage them to develop into happy, confident, independent individuals who can express their needs, feelings, opinions and thoughts, and who value and respect themselves and the other children.

Objectives:

  • To provide a warm and welcoming environment that fosters belonging
  • To encourage and support independence
  • To listen carefully to what children 'say' and to value their contributions
  • To allow children to make choices and decisions
  • To work in partnership with parents, respecting and valuing them as experts on their own children
  • To respect babies own routines and interests
  • To encourage moral development and a sense of right and wrong
  • To encourage the children to celebrate and value theirs and others achievements
  • To develop and maintain an inclusive environment, ensuring that each child's individual needs can be met
