Abacus Day Nursery

Our policy and procedures file is available for all parents at any time; new parents will be asked to read it when they register their child. These are the policies and procedures, which we at Abacus operate under.

Here is a brief description of some of the main points:

Children should be handed over to a senior member of staff and their attendance marked in the register.

No one under 16 should bring in a child or pick them up. They will only be allowed to go with previously notified adult.

A senior member of staff should mark the child out at the end of the session.

Children will only, normally, be offered a minimum of 2 sessions per week. This is with the best interests of the child in mind.

Children are not allowed in the Nursery with any contagious illness or disease. Please ask for the current exclusion times at the time of the illness.

Staff must be convinced that the child has returned to full health before they can be admitted again. We cannot accept children into the nursery who are ill.

In the event of the child becoming unwell during the session, every effort will be made to contact the parents, for them to pick the child up or discuss the action needed.

No child is allowed to run in the building, or jump off the back steps.

Adults only to open doors and gates.
